The alignment of awards made by foreign awarding bodies operating in Ireland with the NFQ
In 2006, the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland agreed a policy approach for the alignment of international qualifications that are delivered in Ireland with the National Framework of Qualifications. The main purpose of aligning these qualifications is to provide learners with clear information regarding the qualifications and the level at which they best fit on the Irish National Framework of Qualifications. To date, a number of UK awarding bodies have had certain awards they deliver in Ireland aligned with the NFQ.
