Welcome to Qualifications Recognition at the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland


Introduction

The National Qualifications Authority of Ireland is the Irish centre for the recognition of international qualifications. The Authority represents Ireland in a European network of centres known as ENIC/NARIC (European National Information Centre/National Academic Recognition Information Centre) and is an NRP (National Reference Point) which promote the recognition of international vocational qualifications throughout Europe and further afield.

The aim of this website is to provide information regarding the qualifications recognition services provided by National Qualifications Authority of Ireland.

The public opening hours for Qualifications Recognition are 09.00-16.30 Monday- Friday, excuding public holidays.

International Qualifications Database

The International Qualifications Database contains information regarding foreign qualifications and education and training systems which may be useful to holders of foreign qualifications, employers, institutions and other interested parties. It lists the foreign qualifications that have been processed to date by the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland and states the advice that has been issued regarding the comparability of the qualifications in Ireland.

The National Qualifications Authority of Ireland has established a National Framework of Qualifications. The National Framework of Qualifications facilitates the recognition process as each foreign qualification is compared to an Irish qualification which is included in the National Framework of Qualifications.

Recognition of Foreign Qualifications in Ireland

If you have completed a qualification outside Ireland, you may wish to have it assessed in order to gain employment or undertake further studies in Ireland.

 

Recognition of Irish Qualifications Abroad

If you hold an Irish qualification and wish to have it recognised abroad for employment or further studies, we can refer you to the appropriate authorities abroad.
